Do you dream of living together or even founding a community yourself? 
The Alte Gärtnerei monastery in Steffisburg BE invites you to a temporary monastery! Inspired by the old tradition of the monasteries, we as evangelical Christians (families, married couples and singles) live together a rhythm that combines spirituality, work and community life. Spread over different apartments and houses, we live in "finch distance" from each other. We share spaces, grounds, vehicles, skills and resources of all kinds. The church year shapes our recurring activities. Times of friendship, prayer, work, study and celebration bind us together, as does faith in Jesus Christ. 

Temporary monastery means that you can live with us in the Alte Gärtnerei monastery and thus gain an insight into our life as a community. You will be accompanied and supported, get to know our monastic rhythm and have the opportunity to help with various tasks in the monastery.

Requirements:

• You are willing to relocate the center of your life to Steffisburg from September 2023 for a period of at least three months to one year. A living space is available internally. The apartment is suitable for individuals or for couples. Small families on request, due to the size of the apartment.

• You speak German

• You finance your own living 

• You take part in the common rhythm, but shape your everyday life independently, ideally you have a job or are studying.
